  • 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and place in a heatproof bowl.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream with sugar and salt over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let sit for 2 minutes to melt the chocolate.
  4. Stir gently until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  5. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the mixture into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  7. Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

For an extra indulgent twist, add a teaspoon of espresso powder to the cream while heating to enhance the chocolate flavor.
