Caprese Skewer

Caprese Skewers combine fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and fragrant basil leaves drizzled with balsamic glaze for a light and flavorful Italian appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 20 cherry tomatoes
  • 20 small fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • 20 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 20 small wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.
  2. On each skewer, thread one cherry tomato, followed by a basil leaf, and then a mozzarella ball.
  3. Repeat until all ingredients are threaded onto skewers.
  4. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter.
  5. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic glaze evenly over the skewers.
  6. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  7. Serve immediately or chill briefly before serving.

Notes

For a spicy kick, sprinkle a dash of red pepper flakes on top or substitute regular balsamic glaze with a fig or raspberry glaze.
