Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for garlic butter)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar in warm milk. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, remaining sugar, salt, and eggs to the yeast mixture. Stir to combine.
  3. Gradually add flour, 1 cup at a time, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place in a greased baking dish, close but not touching.
  7. Cover and let rise again for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Mix melted butter with minced garlic and brush generously over the rolls before baking.
  10. Bake rolls for 18-22 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Remove from oven and immediately brush again with garlic butter. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
  12. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, add a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese on top before baking or serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
