Ground Turkey Pasta

A flavorful, healthy ground turkey pasta dish combining lean protein with tender pasta and a rich tomato sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner.

  • 12 oz ground turkey
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, dried oregano, and dried basil. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss well to combine and heat through.
  8. Remove from heat and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, serve with a side of garlic bread or a fresh green salad. You can also sprinkle red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
