Key Lime Pie

Key Lime Pie is a creamy and tangy dessert with a crisp graham cracker crust, perfect for a refreshing treat any time of year.

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup key lime juice (fresh or bottled)
  • 1 teaspoon grated lime zest
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Bake the crust for 8 minutes, then remove it from the oven and let cool slightly.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.
  5. Pour the filling into the baked crust and bake for 10 minutes until set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate the pie for at least 3 hours before serving.
  7. Top with whipped cream if desired, slice, and serve chilled.

Notes

For extra zest, garnish with thin lime slices or a sprinkle of extra lime zest before serving.
